Scablands Scavenger's video: Home Built Toyota Tacoma Tool Rack

@Home Built Toyota Tacoma Tool Rack
A complete walk through on how to make a simple tool rack that bolts to the bed rail in Toyota Tacoma trucks using Quick fist mounts. This is a solution for carrying a required item when dispersed camping in some parts of the national Forrest. I try to include all information and a parts with tool list for those that are new to fabricating. The following are Items I purchased from Amazon, I have included Affiliate links.... you know the deal if you choose to use the links its costs you nothing and I get a tiny commission to fund future projects ! Below are my Amazon Affiliate links to the items used to make the rack. If you use them I earn a small commission at no cost to you. You will need Two of these kits= Quick fist mount : https://amzn.to/2CmWBrA The link is for the 6 pack but they sell them in smaller packs if you dont plan on mounting more accessories in the future= T nuts for bed rail, threaded 3/8 : https://amzn.to/2PA8yvE The fasteners I suggest purchasing at a local vendor if you can, as shipping gets spendy for the small quantity that is needed. Pick them up wherever you get your steel and paint. I used 4 each 1/4-20 thread x 1" bolts or machine screws with Nylock Nuts for mounting the Quick fist mounts I used two stainless steel 3/8x1" bolt with stainless lock washer to mount the rack to the T-bolt. I also Used 2 each 10x1" machine screws cut to length to mount the rubber stand offs ( hose pieces ) and two nuts each or nylocks. I used approximately 36" of 1/4x2" steel flatbar but this is slightly overkill, 1/8 or 3/16x 1-1/2 will work as well and can be found at most hardware or home improvement stores as well as the fasteners. I used A premium high solids paint, but multiple coats of cheaper paint will work, just remember it will be in the weather and you dont want it to rust or fade.
