Scablands Scavenger's video: Hot Tent Tap Out

A trip intended to be 2 nights turns into one when things get a little damp..... I really debated on uploading this video, I dont normally take my camera on longer trips. Being new to hot tenting I thought it might be good to document my progress though so I decided to film what I could. I dont know that it has any entertainment value, but it will be a good reminder to me when considering gear for my next trip. I had quite a few failures on this trip, broken saw, broken snowshoe, Sleep pad got a hole in it, waterproof gloves that weren't, no rain cap on stove pipe ( along with a few other things) . In the end I decided to pack up a day early and call it a learning experience. Two Items that impressed and were invaluable were my Wetterlings Bushman axe, and my " Tot Box" from Pine Fire. Both were the heroes of the trip and stood the rigors of the extremely wet conditions better than I could have hoped. My Silky saw on the other hand .... a great saw but if it is your only saw on a trip where you need to process down alot of wood I think a spare blade is a wise investment. My Thermarest Trail Light pad decided to stop holding air as well, something I have always been leery of, it will be replaced with a rigid camp pad I think.
