Scablands Scavenger's video: Pack saw trials

Well there is still plenty of time for winter camping this year so I decided after all the gear failures on my last trip I would run down my list of failures and make changes where I could. First on the list was what to do about my saw situation, I really enjoy my silky saw for its speed and ease of use but snapping like glass like it did really shook my faith in the thin-brittle saw design. I poured over some designs on the web, and dug through my gear to see what I had lying around and put together a small pack saw. I have used frame saws, or bow saws and even a saw called the Arkan-saw (sven style saw) but never really cared for the thin stamped cheap metal blades. It also seems that all the blades are meant for green wood ? anyway I did have to run around town to find a decent blade that was actually hardened at the teeth, if anyone has a lead on a decent blade that is actually sharp a link would be greatly appreciated. So I took the little bug out to try it out in lean-to mode and see if it would be viable (for me) to use as a decent shelter for an overnighter in poor weather while testing the saw. The shelter worked great and so did the saw. I was not able to film much as the snow was coming down and my camera does not like heavy moisture at all anymore, its not waterproof at all. It was a good day and I think I can call the saw a success. I will clean up the design and seal it up with some oil.
