Scarcity Studios's video: Perryfields high school lockdown after group fight and drugs found outside

Two Oldbury schools were put on 'lockdown' following a police incident. Worried parents were unable to pick up their children at the end of the day - initially being told the delay was "due to safeguarding". Perryfields Academy on Oldacre Road and Perryfields Primary School in Apsley Road, kept children inside on the advice of West Midlands Police due to "an incident in the local area". Parents received a text at around 3.30pm this afternoon (Thursday, January 26), to say they'd been advised to "keep all children in school" until the matter was resolved. The text assured parents all children were accounted for and in class. A second text informed parents that "students will be dismissed from the main entrance only in the next 5-10 minutes", however it was then followed up with a third message, which said: "We have been alerted by the police of an incident in the local area. "The police have advised that we keep all children in school until it is resolved.
