Cancer Explained in Tamil What is Cancer in Tamil How Cancer is formed This video explains how cancer forms in Tamil. Our body is made up of trillions of cells. Generally, cells grow mitotically and divide to form new cells as the body needs them. When cells grow old or become damaged, they die, and new cells take their place. Cell death is controlled by Apoptosis. Cell growth is controlled by three important genes: proto oncogenes, Tumor suppressor genes and DNA repair genes. Mutation in these genes drives to cancer. When cancer develops, normal cell cycle breaks down. New cells form when they are not needed and these extra cells can divide without stopping and may form growths called tumors. Tumors are of two types. Benign tumor which do not spread or invade, nearby tissues. Malignant tumors are life threatening which spread to nearby tissues and exhibit metastasis.
