ScooterWala's video: Devkund Waterfall Trek Exploring the majestic waterfall Tahmini Ghat

@Devkund Waterfall Trek | Exploring the majestic waterfall | Tahmini Ghat
Devkund Waterfall is located near the tiny hamlet of Bhira close to the picturesque Tamhini Ghat - a mountain passage in the crest of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra. Tamhini Ghat is known for its landscape that is filled with waterfalls, dense forests, lakes and sprawling valleys. A short trek of about 2 hours from the quaint village of Bhira, through the lush green forests, will lead you to the Devkund Waterfall and the crystal-clear water pool at its bottom. Surrounded by rocky and green patches, the place is absolutely pristine. This plunge waterfall pours a massive amount of water, especially during the monsoons, which is why it is advisable to avoid trekking or camping here during the peak rainy season. It is believed that Devkund is a confluence of three waterfalls and here's where the Kundalika river originates. Devkund literally means "the bathing pond of gods" and is considered sacred by the locals. You must, therefore, respect the belief and be a responsible traveller by not littering the place or disturbing the environment in any way. The trek trail passes through a dense forest and one can see plenty of smaller waterfalls, streams and rivulets along the way. *Best time to visit Devkund Waterfall* Trekking to Devkund Waterfall during the monsoons is not advisable as a lot of incidents and mishaps have occurred in the past. The best time to visit the waterfall is, therefore, after the monsoon months, typically from late September/October to April. *How to reach Devkund Waterfall* Devkund Waterfall is located at a distance of about 110 km from Pune and about 170 km from Mumbai. If you're commuting via public transport, you can take a state transport bus to Bhira village, which is the base village for this trek to the waterfall. If you plan on driving to the base village, reach the Bhira Dam or the Tata Power House Dam. *Other charges in this trek* Parking charges for bike - Rs.20/- Bridge crossing charges - Rs.10/- *Gears Used* iPhone 7 and Sjcam 5000x Elite If you enjoyed this video don't forget the hit the like button, share and subscribe to this channel for more interesting videos every week.
