In this video I show how I made 5 quick projects which make great gifts for any occasion. 4 projects were turned on the lathe which include an ice cream scoop, a pizza slicer, a peppermill, and a salt cellar. The other project used up scrap wood and was a simple cutting board or a charcuterie board. The ice cream and pizza slicer kit came from Rockler and the handles were made from cherry. The peppermill kit came from Woodcraft and was made from walnut. The salt cellar was turned from beli wood, an economical alternative to zebrawood, and had a pink ivory button on the lid. A very useful tool which is necessary for any tool kit. This block plane is small enough for an apron pocket and fits well in the palm of my hand. It is perfect for chamfering or rounding over edges of boards and planing thin stock.
