@Football in The Community Project: How to become a professional footballer
After the 2006 World Cup it was clear to every football loving Englishman that unless drastic action was taken at grassroots level, football was never coming home. A long term systematic plan was required and people from all walks of life across the Country came together with an action plan and put a lot of time and money into a new Project - Football in the Community. The plan? Simple. To ensure that every boy and girl around the country, no matter their circumstance, can have access to high quality training from professionals. In this film from the SW of England in 2007, World TV Quiz legend Paul Moran, interviews former Man Utd, Swansea City and Exeter City star John Hodge, then Head of Exeter City FC's Football in the Community in Cornwall, which runs soccer schools and tournaments throughout the SW of England, explains the steps necessary for children to take in order to become a professional footballer. The outcome? Well I'd like to think that the way England performed in 2018, is the beginning of the harvest. Football is coming home!
