The DC Universe streaming service is launching later this year with two original series- Titans and Young Justice: Outsiders- with Swamp Thing hopefully premiering in 2019. James Wan, whose production company Atomic Monster brought us the Conjuring franchise and Lights Out, will executive produce along with Michael Clear and Rob Hackett as co-producer. Swamp Thing first debuted in 1971’s “House of Secrets ” with Swamp Thing releasing the next year. The series will be written by Mark Verheiden, who worked on Ash vs. Evil Dead and Netflix’s Daredevil, with co-writer Gary Dauberman, who worked on last year’s remake of “It”. With Paramount Pictures finding success in the horror genre with their most recent film A Quiet Place, they are now moving forward with a new low-budget horror movie called Crawl. The movie is being produced by Sam Raimi and directed by Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D, Horns). The film is described as a self-contained thriller that "centers on a young woman who, while struggling to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped inside a flooding house and fighting for her life against Florida's most savage and feared predators." New Line is expanding the massively profitable Conjuring universe with a third “Annabelle” movie that will open on July 3, 2019. Gary Dauberman, the writer behind the franchise, making his directorial debut. The porcelain doll was a key component of The Conjuring, and the past two Annabelle installments have earned over a billion dollars worldwide. Annabelle 2 was a huge hit last year and was almost the highest grossing horror movie of the year, before Muschietti's big screen adaptation of Stephen King's IT came out and became the highest grossing horror movie of all time. Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro has co-written and will produce Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, a movie that Entertainment One and CBS Films will co-finance. Andre Ovredal directed earlier films like The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Trollhunter and the upcoming Mortal. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark will be shot in Toronto this summer Deadline reports Jessica Rothe and Israel Broussard are confirmed to return for more blood, gore, and alarm clocks in the follow-up to the Groundhog Day-style slasher flick. They will be joined by new arrivals Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi, Homeland) and Sarah Yarkin (American Horror Story, The Middle, Eat, Brains Love) to try and survive the nightmare that just won’t end. Production is scheduled to begin May 10 of this year for the horror/thriller. No official release date has been announced, but it is likely the film could arrive in 2019. Castle Rock premiere date revealed with a new trailer Hulu revealed today that Castle Rock will premiere on the streaming service on July 25, 2018. They also released a brand new teaser trailer.This latest look at the show is full of references to the author’s past works. A narrator walks us through the fictional Maine town, talking to us about the mysterious and horrible past—and present—of Castle Rock, which is caught in a centuries-old cycle of nightmares and violence. 'Tremors Reboot Starring Kevin Bacon Dead at Syfy Syfy has opted to pass on its TV follow-up to the 1990 feature film Tremors, starring Kevin Bacon. The NBCUniversal-owned cable network has passed on the revival that was to be set 25 years after the events of the 1990 feature film.
