@SRF417: 1987 LENAGHANS DRIVE - RICHMOND VALE RAILWAY
1987 Steam locomotive SMR22 is seen shunting the former Stockrington yard, then following departure as it heads towards the Lenaghan's Road bridge, on it's return to Hexham.. Sadly, the tape is a bit deteriorated in parts, but still historically important enough to put up. Australia's historic last commercial steam railway was due to close a couple of months later. Despite ideas of a tourist railway, the line now lies disused and overgrown. This location is now just an overgrown railway line now, with little prospect for reuse. The locomotive, SMR22, was built by Beyer Peacock in 1921 and is now preserved by the 'Richmond Vale Railway Museum'. The final owner of the line was Coal and Allied.
