Senn555's video: ATTENTION: Subscriber Update - Moved to Dailymotion

@ATTENTION: Subscriber Update - Moved to Dailymotion
So - time for an update! Namely, what the hell happened to my YouTube channel, and why haven't I been active in recent months? If you follow the MLPBGM Facebook page or Twitter account that I run, you already know what has occurred, but I'd like to fill in my YouTube subscribers to the situation also. Around the time that ContentID was first introduced here (or shortly after - this was exactly a year ago according to my e-mail inbox), I was hit with claims from Hasbro on two of my BGMs - the 8-minute and 6-and-a-half minute rips I did from the "Boast Busters" episode - and these two videos were blocked in the United States, though they remained online for the rest of the world to view. Hasbro appeared to have no qualms with my fair use disputes of these claims as they never responded to either of them, and thus YouTube lifted the region-restriction block on both videos. Fast forward eight months later, where in the span of five days (September 4th/5th, and 8th/9th, 2013) I received four full-on copyright claims (*NOT* ContentID) from Shout! Factory, LLC, as well as a fifth copyright claim on September 13th. InfinityDash got claims at the same time, and as I recall Saberspark got at least one claim as well, all from Shout! Factory. These claims blocked five of my BGM videos worldwide. The thing is, Shout! Factory does not own the actual content of MLP:FiM; they only have the home video distribution rights licensed to them by Hasbro, and it is Hasbro that controls all of the audio and video content associated with MLP:FiM; therefore, Shout! Factory is sending me (and Infinity / Saberspark) copyright claims for material that they don't have any ownership of. I disputed fair use on all of Shout! Factory's claims; on October 3rd their response was to shut down two of my videos in less than an hour, netting me two strikes on my account. I then set the rest of my channel to private before they could take down a third video (which would have resulted in a third strike and the termination of my account). The remainder of the claims were released a few days later and I was free to go - but not before YouTube locked my account and tried to force me to sit through their stupid Happy Tree Friends "Copyright School" video and answer some questions at the end. (I skipped the video and just answered the questions to unlock my account) All of this madness, combined with the latest YouTube/Google+ update that created a storm across the internet, prompted me to give YouTube the middle finger and move to Dailymotion. I haven't fully completed the switch-over yet, but all of my videos are live at my new channel: http://www.dailymotion.com/Senn555 It was at this point that I decided it was time to revamp all of my uploads and do some updating. InfinityDash makes all of my video files for me and I have tasked him with re-doing all of my older videos. What you see on my Dailymotion channel now - as of this writing - will all be deleted and replaced with brand-new, fresh videos that will all have a look similar to this (putting more emphasis on the music and less emphasis on the video itself): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwFdNcVBWg8 I have also done a fair bit of behind-the-scenes work in preparation for my channel update - namely updating the ID3 tags in eight of the rips I made (or 16 mp3 and flac files altogether) and sending them to Mediafire to replace their current download links. The ID3 tag updating comes in light of talks with Kristopher Gee, who scored the majority of seasons 1 and 2 of MLP:FiM with William Anderson, and attaching his credit to the tracks he was involved with. (You won't see the new download links until after I've uploaded all of the new videos) As of now I am waiting on Infinity to make and send over the new video files to me, so all of the channel updates should hopefully take effect in the coming days... and then I'll release my next BGM rip! If you recognize the music playing in the video, you already know what it is - I had been working on it on-and-off over the past six months or so. I was BronyCAN's Head of PR from April to September last year (which left me with ZERO time for BGM ripping work), and then I had to juggle working three jobs for a time afterward... ON TOP OF dealing with all of this copyright claim BS from YouTube. Perhaps my rate of output will increase now that I'm no longer with BronyCAN, and if I can't secure a full-time job in the near future, at that. I'll keep my YouTube profile active as a means of redirecting you and everyone else to my new channel, but otherwise, I think this will be my last YouTube video upload. TL;DR version: YouTube sucks, I moved to Dailymotion, updates to my channel forthcoming, new BGM rip forthcoming! http://www.dailymotion.com/Senn555 Happy 2014!
