Whipped Cold Process Soap by Valerie Mosher ALWAYS make sure you put through a Soap Calculator before using! This was a 3lb batch of soap. I soaped this formula at 38% lye liquid and Super Fatted at 10%. I used Sodium Lactate at 3% of oils and I “did not” discount this amount from my lye liquid. Whipped CP soap has the nature of increasing in size, so this will fill a 3lb mold (heaping) and almost another 1lb mold. Ingredients: Almond Oil - 5% Castor Oil - 15% Cocoa Butter - 3% Coconut Oil (76 deg) - 17% Crisco, new w/palm - 3% Kokum Butter - 3% Lard - 17% Mango Butter - 1% Palm - 29% Shea Butter - 7% Distilled water (use all water or some water and some coconut milk and yogurt, optional) Coconut Milk and 1 Tbsp Yogurt (mixed together and added before you add your lye liquid and whipped. 3Tbsp sugar (added to lye liquid and completely dissolved before adding lye). Once your lye has reach around 100F you can add your Sodium lactate to it and then it needs to cool to around 40-50F before adding to your whipped oils/butters. *** You need around 80% hard oils/butters and 20% soft oils for CP Whipped Soap. Measure and melt your hard oils and butters together and mix well. Then put in freezer or fridge until it is very thick like pudding. Whip these together for about 5 minutes scraping down the sides. Then while the Kitchen Aid is on low add the soft oils and fragrance or essential oils you are using, and once they are incorporated, whip on high for about another 3-5 minutes. Then slowly add your lye liquid while beating on low and wear protective eye gear and gloves. Then whip on high again for about 3-5 minutes. At this point you can separate and color and mold or design as you like. DO NOT PUT IN FREEZER – Let it set in the fridge if you like for 24 hours, then let it set for another 24-48 hours on the counter before cutting. – by nature this soap can be a bit crumbly on the bottom edges. You can smooth those edges by wetting your fingers and running over the edges. Feel free to use this formula, but please do not sell this formula as your own. Enjoy!
