In 2001 Mr. Yandi Shi went to Shaolin Temple as a monk. He learned his Kungfu skill from master Yan Zhuang and master Yan Ao in Shaolin Temple China. He is now the Kungfu master of all kinds of Shaolin traditional boxing, Shaolin health exercises and Shaolin meditation. He is also the skill master of using knife sword and sticks. He has been a Kungfu (martial arts) coach for a long time at the Shaolin Temple. He has trained many outstanding students domestically and internationally. He has very good teaching experience and cross-cultural communication skill. In 2004, Yandi Shi visited Taiwan with Yongxin Shi, the Abbot of Shaolin Temple. During the visit, he visited the Yinshun mentor, Zhenhua elders, and Wuming elders. His talent really impressed the elders in Taiwan. Master Yandi Shi participated in benchmarking dramas such as "The Wheel of Life" (2002-2004), "Happy Shaolin Biography" (2008-2009), and "Buddhism" (2007-2015). Those performances have strong and long responses in many countries, such as Europe and the United States. For more than a decade, He has participated in thousands of shows. Yandi was the core actor of the crew, and he was also the youngest monk during this time period. Yandi was participated in a few international large-scale culture exchange activities on behalf of Shaolin Temple during last ten years, such as German Shaolin Cultural Festival (2012) and Austrian Shaolin Cultural Festival in 2012, North American Shaolin Cultural Festival in 2013, British Shaolin Cultural Festival in 2014 and Russian Military Music Festival in 2013 and so on. In addition, Yandi has participated in the filming of "Shaolin Little Monks" (2007), "Wulin Youth" (2014 CCTV "Chinese Recording Channel"), " Boxing in Shaolin Temple" (2015 Korea SBS TV Station), "Far Hometown" “Songshan Shaolin the temple you don't know" (2016 CCTV "Chinese International Channel") and other documentary and variety shows. Those shows recorded the daily life of monks in Shaolin temple. Yandi also participated in the performance and guidance of CCTV Spring Festival Celebration Party Show in 2018. He is an outstanding representative of Shaolin Zen and Martial Arts culture and a practitioner and pioneer of the contemporary Shaolin lifestyle.
