This was recreated to recreate the scene *** Bahanaga 3 train collision - 12841 Coromandel Exp (Derailed), 12486 YPR HWH Exp and Goods train The 12841 Shalimar - MGR Chennai Central Coromandel Express passing at 128 km/hr collided with a goods train which was already on loop line near Bahanaga Bazar station on 2 June 2023. The accident caused some of the 21 coaches of the Coromandel Express to derail and fall on the adjacent track, where the 12864 Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express was passing at about 126 km/hr. Last 2 to 3 coaches of 12864 Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express also got derailed since few coaches of Coromandel Express rammed into this train as it was passing on the down line towards Howrah at the same time. The impact of the collision killed approximately 288 people and injured 1,175 others approximately. It was the worst train accident in India in over two decades. I am deeply saddened by the tragic train accident that occurred at Bahanaga Bazar on June 2, 2023. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the 288 lives lost in this horrific incident. Let's pray for the speedy recovery of the over 1000 injured passengers and express our gratitude to the rescue workers and villagers who helped in the aftermath. This is one of the deadliest train accidents in India's history and let's hope that the authorities will conduct a thorough investigation and take necessary measures to prevent such disasters in the future.
