We’ve got to talk about the latest development in the Chris Harrison situation, BUT… As always… It has been an eventful week in bachelor nation both on the show and off… Chris announced he would be stepping away from hosting duties for the remainder of the season--BUT obviously what's airing now was filmed months ago Many fans were expecting the episode to start with a statement from ABC or Chris denouncing racism and acknowledging the current controversy, BUT the episode was just business as usual DISCUSS: were we hoping to see something? Mj: I think that would have been a good move on their part but i’m also hopeful that they’re going to highlight that message in the upcoming After the rose and possibly future statements. Something needs to be said, just like we all had been waiting for a statement from Rachel Kirkconnel, I would also like to see an acknowledgement from the franchise and from them to extend their intentions for doing better in the future. In light of what's going on right now some fans and members of bachelor nation opted to NOT watch the episode at all in solidarity with the mistreated castmates of color Pieper, who went home last night, tweeted: In light of everything going on, no I will not be watching tonight’s episode. Stay safe and stay well DISCUSS: this season was really supposed to be a positive step forward but now it feels like it was one step forward 2 steps back… We were all expecting to see Chris in the episode but some fans think there was a last minute edit done to limit Chris’ presence to as little as possible… What's really adding fuel to this theory is the fact that the day portion of the group date was completely cut from the show We saw the women get ready but then went straight to the cocktail portion of the date ABC had already released tons of images from the day portion of the date so we know there was something planned, based on the images it looked like it involved hot tubs! DISCUSS: we did see multiple in depth serious conversations during the cocktail party & they had to fit in Kit’s decision to send herself home...what do we think happened here and did we notice LESS Chris than usual?
