Shared News's video: Reg -Jean Page Brings Bridgerton to SNL Helps Decode Olivia Rodrigo s Drivers License

Hey guys! Welcome to another shared news from home! We have to talk about Rege’s incredible job hosting SNL but before we get into it if you’re new here… As always… So first of all we have to talk about how Rege played tribute to his character Simon Basset aka the Duke from Bridgerton the skyrocketed him to a whole new level of fame! In his opening monologue he did his best to try and convince viewers that “he’s just a normal guy” and nothing like the Duke… Later in the show he brought Simon to the SNL stage in a skit that spoofs bridgertons work with an intimacy coordinator! Obviously there are quite a few intimate scenes in bridgerton and the cast and crew have publicly discussed many times how integral the intimacy coordinator was to the success of the show… In the SNL sketch though the coordinator was, well anything but helpful! The sketch features Rege playing himself while SNL‘s Chloe Fineman, plays Page’s co-star Phoeve Dynevor, who portrays Daphne on Bridgerton. The started things off by recreating the famous wedding night heart-to-heart between Simon and Daphne, of course including Rege’s iconic “I burn for you line” Kate McKinnon, playing their director steps in to announce that Bridgerton’s regular intimacy coordinator, Paula, had been exposed to Covid, so Netflix has brought in a backup, Richie (Mikey Day) and his assistant and nephew, Randy (Pete Davidson). As you can imagine things do not go smoothly from here out.. The shows director shed some light about what it was really like on set in an interview explaining prepping intimacy scenes is very similar to prepping stunts she said: “People don’t really understand it, you have to make sure the actors are comfortable by giving them props to place between their bodies, so there is no physical contact actually, it is all an illusion,” Bridgerton aside, Rege also joined in a hilarious sketch where the SNL cast takes on the world's obsession with Driver’s License and all the drama surrounding it! The sketch is set in a bar, full of men playing pool, and then its Rege’s turn to play HIS song on the jukebox! He obviously chooses to play “Drivers License” and from there the entire crew debates the meaning of the lyrics, and if Olivia is more reminiscent of Billie Eilish or Taylor Swift. There’s also Kate McKinnon as an old man and Bowen Yang singing and dancing his heart out in the sketch just for good measure! Leave it to SNL to perfectly capture the drivers license craze!
