@*REALISTIC* WHAT I EAT IN A DAY | Binge Eating Disorder Recovery | My Approach, Tips & Habits
“You will become who you are after you have been lost and recovered time and time again– you will turn up without pieces that needed to be shredded and with new discoveries that will give you a stepping stone to move forward on.” ― Brianna Wiest Hellloo my friends! In this video I'm taking you through "what I eat in a day" while on my BED recovery journey. Unlike other typical "What I eat in a Day" videos, I'm not focusing on the actual meals (giving recipes, calories etc), but rather my mindful approach, tips & sustainable habits I am trying to build to permanently end binge eating & live a healthy lifestyle. I also understand that when it comes to food - not all of us prepare our own meals, and many of us still live at home with our parents who cook a lot of food for us (myself included) or are low on time, so meal-prepping for yourself isn't always practical. Also, I have nothing against tracking or counting calories - right now while on my BED recovery journey, this is something that I have to set aside while I focus on just ending binge eating. Intiuitive eating with a nuanced approach, getting rid of black and white thinking ("Clean food" vs "bad food") 06:19 I deserve to eat, and I NEED to eat adequately to keep functioning 06:28 Listen to your body & the hunger scale - eat when hungry (not starving) + stop when comfortably full (not stuffed) 07:18 Eating is not a race, take your time, enjoy & TASTE the food! 07:28 Weight loss is NOT the priority, ending binge eating is. 09:01 Focus on the actual JOURNEY, not the destination. Build sustainable habits & make choices that go towards a healthy lifestyle 09:34 Why movement is a key habit in my recovery journey 10:08 Self-reflecting is important for progress, especially in identifying things that trigger urges to binge 10:55 Accessing resources/help from recovery community/self-help (see below for resources mentioned) 11:49 SUMMARY of tips/approach to BED recovery Resources mentioned Brain over Binge by Kathryn Hansen (book & podcast) Atomic Habits by James Clear DISCLAIMER: I am not a registered health professional.
