Shaun Murray's video: BLIND Wakeboarding World Champion - Scott Leason

Yep, you read that title right! Scott Leason is the 2021 Wakeboard World Champion and he is blind! Not bad eyesight blind, but Scott was shot in the head while working the graveyard shift at a Circle K and his eyesight was forever taken. That incident hasn't stopped Scott because he's more active than ever now and I'm beyond grateful to call him a friend. The Nautique Wake Series is put on by The WWA and they have stepped up to give him some support so he can compete in the adaptive division but there are still expenses to be covered to help him defend his World Title for next year. I put this edit together because I wanted to share his story and hopefully help make an impact on your life and his. Eyesight is something we take for granted too often and is something that is truly amazing. Though Scott no longer has his eyesight, his passion on the water is infectious and the first time I saw him stand on stage and shout for joy while holding his first wakeboarding trophy I knew I wanted to get to know him.
