The lyrics tell of a great song that spans the world sung in honor of the second leader of the Soviet Union and the fourth classic of Marxism-Leninism, Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin. After the murder of Stalin by the Khrushchevites and his denunciation at the revisionist 20th congress, the song fell out of use across the USSR and Eastern Bloc where the song had become popular among communists.
