Simba has learned from his mom, Jackie very well. He is doing the exact same thing she does when Shadow flies onto the nest. Simba is doing the same cries and taking the same stance with ruffled feathers. Shadow flew in and began plucking the dead eaglet's (Cookie) feathers. Simba was not happy, he pecked at Shadow and then laid down between Shadow and Cookie. I think Simba was also letting Shadow know he is hungry and would have liked food.
