I wouldn't rely on those T5008 slips provided by your broker, because sometimes the proceeds of disposition and the cost basis are way off. Also, when you log your trades, you can easily go back and backtest your trades, and see which trades do well, and which trades don't work, so you tweak your trading strategy and focus on the best performing strategy. I use this spreadsheet to log my option selling trades, I enter the date of entry, underlying, strikes, premium collected, number of contracts, price to close, commissions and pnl is then calculated with formula.
