Once you sell a call, you win by either letting the call expire worthless or buying it back for less than what you sold it for, and that will generally happen if the stock stays below your strike, your short strike, your sold strike. Now in the case where the stock flies past your strike, your loss becomes unlimited basically, because there is no limit to the upside on a stock, except common sense, but that's out the door these days, gamestop when from 60 to over 400 in one week, that could have been over 30k losses incurred if you had sold the 60 call.
