Starting 2023 with dim sum in London! Happy New Year! My new year’s resolution this year is to continue to eat more dumplings. This is Saikei in North Greenwich, not my top favourite dim sum restaurants in London but i love coming here for the vibe, no-frills service and being surrounded by big families from all generations at weekends speaking cantonese! Dumplings are priced very reasonably with most between £5 - £6.50 - there are a few vegetarian options but it’s mostly limited to buns, desserts and noodles. Note: The glutinous rice is HUGE and can easily feed 4 people with a lot of shredded chicken, chinese sausage and chinese mushrooms. I didn’t like the prawn dumplings or siu mai though - too dry, came stuck together and the siu mai tasted like it was steamed from frozen. We ordered: 1. Prawn dumplings £5 2.
