Providing additional power are MEC 601 (EMD SD40-3), MEC 501 (EMD GP40-2LW), MEC 3402 (EMD SD40-2), MEC 604 (EMD SD40-2), and MEC 615 (EMD SD40M-2). MEC 3403 was built in 1973 by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division. Prior to her acquisition by the Maine Central Railroad Company (Pan Am Railways) she worked for the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway.
