For Ganesh Chaturthi, I attempted to make Churma Laddoos for the first time, following my favorite Chef Sanjyot's recipe from @YourFoodLab The process is straightforward, with simple ingredients. The laddus turned out incredibly delicious. Give them a try! Ingredients; Atta 500 grams Ghee ½ cup Luke warm water 3/4th cup Ghee 300 gm for frying Nutmeg (Grated or powdered ) Jaggery - 250 gm Poppy seeds to coat Combine atta and ghee in a bowl until they stick together. Gradually add lukewarm water to make stiff dough, dividing into batches if needed. Knead for 2-3 minutes and let it rest for 15 minutes. Shape the dough into sticks, avoiding thickness. Shallow fry them in moderately heated ghee until golden brown. Crush and grind sticks into a coarse texture, then sieve. Mix grated nutmeg into the churma. Heat ghee, add jaggery, and cook until melted. Avoid overcooking. Add melted jaggery-ghee mixture to the powdered churma and mix. Shape the filling into laddoos, avoiding excessive pressure, and coat with poppy seeds. Store in an airtight container; they stay fresh for a few days.
