Simply Seth's video: California Wildfire Aftermath Visiting Burned Wilderness Area

@California Wildfire Aftermath | Visiting Burned Wilderness Area
I visited my favorite hiking area on the family ranch for the first time after those horrible and scary forest fires burned through Napa County in October of 2017. This was the end result of the Atlas Fire that swept through the hills east of Napa. It turned out to be worse than I thought. Given how fast the fire advanced across the hills, I figured this might be a lower temperature fire as opposed to a more destructive canopy fire. I was half wrong. Many of the oak trees I saw weren't burned per se, but the vast majority of their leaves were scorched. Some groves did burn completely though. The ones that suffered complete crown scorch will probably bud and sprout new foliage within the next year or two. The sage brush I show, relies on fires to reproduce and regenerate and grows back quickly. As for the grass covered hills, the grass is pretty much 100% destroyed, but should grow back this rainy season. It's still very heart-breaking to see just how bad it looks in those hills. In this video, I show what this place looks like post-fire and I also feature some before and after shots so that you can see what this place looked like before the fire. That place was my sanctuary and go-to hiking place for years and was my favorite. I'm not sure if I'll go back anytime soon.
