YUM!! Traeger smoked bacon wrapped onion rings are loaded up with bbq sauce and melt in your mouth. Print Recipe - https://sipbitego.com/smoked-bacon-wrapped-onion-rings 2 onions, yellow, sweet or walla walla 8 pieces bacon (about 1 pack, or more to double up) 2 tbsp BBQ sauce (plus extra to brush on while smoking, optional) 1 tbsp BBQ seasoning (rub) Slice ends off onions. Remove onion paper skins and discard. Slice onions into about 4 segment “rounds” (see Sip Bite Go photos) of about 2” thick. Separate onions in circles, 2-3 layers in each ring (again see photos this is hard to describe!). Brush BBQ sauce on the onion rings. Take the raw bacon, and wrap it around each onion ring. I find it easy to stretch the bacon to fit the entire ring, but you can also double up with 2 pieces of bacon for each smoked bacon onion ring. Sprinkle with your favorite BBQ rub / seasoning. Store in the fridge up to overnight or smoke immediately. To smoke bacon onion rings, preheat the Traeger pellet grill to 250 degrees F.
