As seen on SkyEye Britain - LAUNCHING IN EARLY 2013! - www.skyeye-app.com Cardington was a major centre of the airship industry and the two enormous hangars housed the R101 project in the 1920's. When the R101 crashed in 1930 all worked stopped and the hangars were used for storage. Today filmmakers use one of the hangars where Gotham City was created for Batman.
