AS SEEN ON SKYEYE BRITAIN - LAUNCHING IN EARLY 2013! - www.skyeye-app.com Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and a city of two halves, with Old Town to the south, built around the castle and medieval streets. The castle has dominated the skyline since the first one was built in the 12th century. Little remains of the old castle and most of the present buildings date from the 16th century onwards. The castle is well known for the military tattoo held each year since 1950s. When over crowding became a problem in Old Town a new development began to the north where elegant streets and squares were laid out in the latest 18th century classical style.
