Smart Interiors's video: Guest Bathroom Update - From Builder Basic to WOW on a Budget

@Guest Bathroom Update - From Builder Basic to WOW on a Budget
My client’s hired me to update their dreary and dated guest bathroom. They wanted more space and a guest bath that made a statement without breaking the bank. Let’s take a look at the Before. This bathroom feels cramped with the wall dividing the vanity and shower area. The door leading to the shower makes it difficult to maneuver in that area. The shower has dated tile with a frosted glass door. The generic vanity with tile top has seen better days. The start of this transformation began by taking down the wall dividing the vanity from the shower area and removing the door. Now take a look at how much more open and spacious this bathroom feels. We did leave a knee wall to divide the vanity and toilet area. We did this because we were not changing the flooring in the bathroom. If we removed the entire wall we would have needed to replace the floor. The shower is the same size however it looks and feels bigger for two reasons 1) We ran the tile to the ceiling drawing the eye up. 2) The frameless glass door opens up the view inside and out. Some other details in the shower are the framed tile inset with the arabesque design. You see this right when you step into the bathroom. The other cool feature is the infinity drain. I love how it disappears. Before the vanity was dismal and really did not welcome guests. Now this vanity, mirror and light make a statement. We bought the vanity with the vessel sink from Discount Bathroom Vanities. The unique shape of the mirror is an eye catcher. It was purchased from the Howard Elliot collection. Before the toilet area felt cramped and tight. Now it is open and spacious. The only decorative accessories needed for this room to be complete were a pair of framed agate geodes in Indigo from Z Gallerie. Not only did this remodel improve my client’s lifestyle it added value to their home. From start to finish it only took two weeks for this transformation. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this remodel. My Links!
