To Save a Dragonfly. On a windy day, a wave hits a dragonfly. Sand and salt water covered the wings, and death is surely nigh. Let us perch you up top and dry out your wings, and somehow brush off the sand. My God you're so pretty, and marvelously built, We must let you fly from my hand. Flight attempt one, straight back to the Sea. Don't you know that's where you could die? Flight attempt two, stay here with me. I've thought about how you should fly. I've studied your wings, and looked in your eyes and see those small hairs on your face. Now face the sun, to make your great leap And take flight with purpose and grace.
