Vijay Deverakonda's next pan-India film Liger is right now under the radar of boycott after his statement in support of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha go VIRAL. The netizens are not happy with Vijay supporting Aamir Khan in his recent conversation. The south superstar was asked to comment on the boycott trend against several bollywood films including 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. Reacting to it, Vijay said that the boycott call against Bollywood films is not only affecting the actors but also the workers who give their blood and sweat to the film. While speaking against the 'boycott' trend, Vijay also said that "When you decide to boycott a film, you are not only affecting a superstar, you are affecting thousands of families who lose work and livelihoods. Soon after Vijay revealed his opinion against the 'Boycott Culture', he started facing backlash on the internet as a section of netizens began attacking him for collaborating with Karan Johar. Netizens began trending the 'BoycottLigerMovie' hashtag and demanded others to boycott the project. Earlier the leading lady of Laal Singh Chaddha, Kareena Kapoor Khan too had requested not to boycott the film as there are 250 workers who have given their sweat and blood for the film. We just hope that this boycott for Liger doesn't see the same fate like Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha. Like Anurag Kashyap said that we are living in strange times especially when it comes to Bollywood as everything is right now very unpredictable. Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Panday, have been promoting Liger extensively. This sports-action drama is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Puri Connects. The film also stars Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishna in pivotal roles.
