The founder of Papa John’s apologized after a report that he used the N-word during a sensitivity training call in May caused the pizza chain’s stock to tumble Wednesday. “News reports attributing the use of inappropriate and hurtful language to me during a media training session regarding race are true. Regardless of the context, I apologize. Simply stated, racism has no place in our society,” founder John Schnatter said in a statement issued through the company. Shares of Papa John’s fell by up to 6% in intraday trading, wiping out roughly $96 million in market value. The stock rebounded slightly at closing down 4.8%. Schnatter 56, used the slur during an exercise designed to help him avoid public scandal again according to a Forbes report. The pizza mogul had earlier said that NFL players protesting during the national anthem was partly to blame for a dip in the company’s sales. He stepped down in January as CEO of the company over that controversy. Papa John's founder John Schnatter reportedly quoted Colonel Sanders' use of a racial slur while the pizza exec was on a sensitivity training call. Papa John's founder John Schnatter reportedly quoted Colonel Sanders' use of a racial slur while the pizza exec was on a sensitivity training call. When asked how he would distance himself from racist rhetoric online, Schnatter brought back up the debate over players kneeling in protest during the national anthem. “Colonel Sanders called blacks ‘ns,’ ” Schnatter allegedly said. He then complained that Sanders was never publicly condemned for his remarks, Forbes reported. Schnatter also discussed growing up in Indiana, where he said people would kill African-Americans by dragging them from their trucks a reflection that was interpreted as offensive by other parties on the call, according to the report. Papa John’s said in a statement Wednesday that it “condemns racism and any insensitive language, no matter the situation or setting. Our company was built on a foundation of mutual respect and acceptance. … We take great pride in the diversity of the Papa John’s family, though diversity and inclusion is an area where we will continue to strive to do better,” the statement read. ............. ✪ Welcome to the Social Hot News channel General news Celebrity news Tech news Financial news Sports news Game news Wish you and your friends watch the video fun, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ5cBFeiKBczyRaAacl_a9Q/featured?sub_confirmation=1 https://plus.google.com/+CÔNGTYCPTMDTVNB https://www.facebook.com/tinxahoi.channel/ https://twitter.com/TinxahoiChannel https://www.instagram.com/socialhotnews/
