JOSE MARCELLO Dutch orchestrator and arranger who worked together with some of the Dutch TV stations, eg the "TROS" (Televisie Radio Omroep Stichting-). He and his Orchestra were mainly active during the mid seventies (1974-1979) and Marcello recorded (estimation) some 20 to 25 albums, all more or less inspired by the "classic" ballroom style music. EVERYBODY'S TALKIN' Original score by Fred Neil. Became a huge success in the version as sung by Nillsson for the movie "Midnight Cowboy". MHO This is what "arranging music" is all about. It takes a certain "musical courage" to transform a folksong into a well sounding cha-cha-cha. But Marcello and his team realize what no one else could have dreamed : modifying this well known movie ballad and making it sound like a true cha-cha rhythm piece. Forget the (beautiful, no doubt!) original version for a couple of minutes, make your mind "empty" in a way and listen to this one with "an open mind" .... Maybe you'll end up with a different view on this movie sales buster forever.... (Or : when a melody is "strong enough", a good arranger can put the song "in a different jacket" :-) ......
