Women are planting the future in Togo! In the villages of Pagala-gare and Agouégan, as part of a project run by the African Women’s Network for Community Management of Forests (@REFACOF) and supported by the International Tropical Timber Organization and the Soka Gakkai, women have planted more than 25,000 trees since July 2020. “The objective of this project is to help women to produce seedlings for reforestation, agroforestry and, from that, contribute to the restoration—the reconstitution—of degraded forest landscapes and to have food for themselves.
