The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has started to operate special tourist trains for pilgrims from Madurai to different locations and one such train is 06302 Dwaraka - Madural Tamil Sangamam special service. Tourists from Chennai, Madurai, Erode and Salem now have a direct train to famed pilgrim centres like Dwarka and Dakor in Gujarat, courtesy a 11-day Bharat Darshan tourist package by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) starting March 2. The package, which includes sleeper class travel, road transfers, tour guides and south Indian vegetarian food will cost Rs 9075 per head. Starting from Madurai, the itinerary includes stop-overs at Dwarakanath Temple, Bet Dwaraka, Akshardham, Sabarmathi and Udaipur. This train runs via Rajkot - Surendranagar - Ahmedabad - Vadodara - Surat - Jalgaon - Akola - Nanded - Kacheguda - Renigunta - Egmore - Trichy with less stoppages and LHB coaches are provided for better safety and speed. On 29th April 2023, this train was spotted with Raipur WDG-4 12481 named Airavat, skipping Cavalry Barracks at moderate speed. Enjoy the humming EMD in action on gradient.
