A microscope slide: It is a thin flat piece of glass. Typically the object is mounted (secured) on the slide, used to hold objects for examination under a microscope. Typically the object is mounted (secured) on the slide, and then both are inserted together in the microscope for viewing. 2. Coverslip: Microscope slides are often used together with a cover slip or cover glass, a smaller and thinner sheet of glass that is placed over the specimen. The main function of the cover slip is to keep solid specimens pressed flat, and liquid samples shaped into a flat layer of even thickness. This is necessary because high-resolution microscopes have a very narrow region within which they focus. 3. Fusion tube : A fusion tube is a small glass tube used for conducting experiments, such as the sodium fusion test (Lassaigne's test), or for finding the melting/boiling point, in which (a small amount of) the sample is to be heated excessively. We place a small amount of chemical material in an overheated fusion tube. 4. Separating funnel : A separatory funnel (sep funnel) is used to separate immiscible liquids. When two immiscible liquids are placed in a separatory funnel, two layers are seen. The denser solvent will be the bottom layer. Most halogenated solvents are denser than water, most non-halogenated solvents are less dense than water. If you are not sure which layer is which, add a drop of water and see which layer it joins. 5. Condensor : Lab glassware condensers are components used to cool the hot vapors that result from boiling or heated liquids. There are numerous varieties of condensers: they can be divided by application type, by cooling method, and by size. 6. Round Bottom flask: Round-bottom flasks (also called round-bottomed flasks or RB flasks) are types of flasks having spherical bottoms used as laboratory glassware, mostly for chemical or biochemical work. The round-bottom flask is used for reactions, distillations and collection. The round bottoms on these types of flasks allow more uniform heating and/or boiling of liquid. 7. 2-neck RBF: It is a two-neck or double-neck round bottom flask having side neck parallel. It is used for distillation purposes. It has a Glass stopcock which is a constant pressure retention device. It has conical ground joints. It is manufactured from heat resistant boro-silicate glass. It comes in various capacities and stop cock. hese flasks are often used to contain chemical reactions run by chemists, especially for reflux set-ups and laboratory-scale synthesis. 8. 3-neck RBF: Three-necked flask uses used in Heating and/or boiling of liquid, Distillation, chemical reactions, Distilling flask in Rotary evaporators, Storage of the culture media, Preparation of gas-phase standards for flasks fitted with septa (requires volumetric calibration) 9. Petri dish : A petri dish is used to culture different types of cells, including bacteria and molds. It often contains a nutritional medium on which the cells can grow. A petri dish is a flat, shallow dish made of glass or plastic with a suitable lid. 10. Glass Mortar pestle : Glass mortars and pestles are ideal when a nonporous, nonstaining grinding surface is required. While suitable for preparing mixtures that require the reduction of soft aggregates or the incorporation of relatively large amounts of liquid, they should not be used for pulverizing hard solids. 11. Laboratory thermometer : It is a mercury filled thermometer for better life, accuracy and reliable reading of temperatures from 0 degrees to 360 degrees below the freezing point and above boiling point of water or liquids.
