Soma1509's video: Audiosurf 2 EARLY VERSION : The Search for Ambrosia NYC Streets

@Audiosurf 2 [EARLY VERSION]: The Search for Ambrosia (NYC Streets)
Ah, Deus Ex. Once someone mentions it, someone will reinstall it! This song here is called "The Search for Ambrosia" by zircon (Andrew Aversa), featuring the voice talent of Jillian Aversa. A pretty awesome remix to the iconic theme of the New York City streets from the original Deus Ex game. This remix is part of the "Sonic Augmentation" album provided by OCRemix, which does a pretty fantastic job of making an avid Deus Ex fan relive the most popular moments from the original Deus Ex game. If you'd like to download and listen to the whole album, look no further. Download links available here! http://ocremix.org/album/44/deus-ex-sonic-augmentation Now for those of you who don't know what this game is, it is called "Audiosurf 2", a sequel to the original game "Audiosurf". It's basically a really chill game of which you can play with ANY song you want of any genre [unlike games such as Guitar Hero, Rockband, or DJ hero, which limit you to play only certain songs], and the objective is to maneuver your surfer and hit the colored blocks, while avoiding the dark grey blocks. It's kind of a combination of Tetris, F-Zero and Frequency for the PS2...except you're trying to build a massive amount of color blocks for more points. The more red the blocks are, the more points you get. "Redder" blocks appear at the MOST INTENSIVE parts of the song, though it's challenging because it surfs really fast and also more grey blocks surround the red blocks. There are a few new twists this time around. Instead of maneuvering a starship like in the previous game, you are now literally an Audiosurfer, which means that yes, you can actually catch some big air and do a few tricks, earning additional bonus points in the process. In this early version of the game, there are 4 tricks you can perform, each one being more complicated than the other. More complicated tricks take more time in the air to complete but yearn a lot of bonus points, while simpler tricks take almost no time to complete at all but you earn less bonus points. The trick is to actually catch as much air as possible by timing your jumps at the most intensive parts of whatever song you're listening to in order to get the best overall score possible, but there's more to it than that. Each time you collect colored blocks, your trick score multiplier increases, which means that every time you do air tricks, your points could multiply to over 3 times the original amount! The catch is that the score multiplier can only go up to 3.3x [essentially a full color grid], and if you go over that multiplier, it will reset back to 1.0x. If you hit a grey block, your multiplier will decrease, and an entire color row will get erased. If you don't collect any blocks for a certain amount of time, your multiplier will also reset. This means that you have to time your block collection, time your jumps, have decent skill, and get very lucky. There are other ways to play this game, mostly involving puzzles that are more challenging than dodging grey blocks. The best thing about this new Audiosurf game is that now Steamworks is supported, so expect to see a TON of mods, skins, and just all-around more ways to play this game. Anyway, it's a good way to spend 15 bucks if you don't feel like playing anything else on a Sunday Afternoon. This game is available to buy here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/235800 Enjoy! PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND: The game itself is still in its early development stages. It is not complete, and the looks, mechanics, and overall feel of the game will change over time. There will be bugs and general gameplay issues that still need to be ironed out before its official release. If you buy it now [as of 11-3-2013], you're getting early access to the full game! It is highly suggested that you provide feedback around the Steam forums to report any bugs or issues you may have. Reporting feedback to the developer is also a good idea. At this time, DO NOT EXPECT THIS GAME TO BE IN A POLISHED STATE! You have been warned, so don't come crying to me or anyone else if this game is broken for you. ___ Gameplay video captured using DxTory Video Capture Software at 720p resolution, using the Lagarith Lossless CODEC at 30 Frames Per Second with RGBA color sampling.
