A Bernal se llega por el carnaval. En este episodio aprendemos del yunce, el árbol al que se rinde honores en estas épocas. Son 5 yunces y por lo mismo, 5 sociedades yunceras las que participan en el festejo carnavalero, pues como lo dice una ordenanza del año 2005, Bernal es Capital Regional del Carnaval de Piura. Así que tenemos fiesta con los bandos: el rojo, los verdes y el crema. Aderezamos la entrega con comida típica (unas caballas a la brasa con pepián por ejemplo), la danza de los Garibaldis, la pintura de Teodoro Ayala.
