It's a two-pronged response to the 2008 financial crisis that still looms large around the world and the pressure of living in an oil-based economy. Founded in 1998, Antibalas means "bulletproof" in Spanish. Inspired by Latin music, jazz, funk and Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, the horn-driven band has always delivered high-octane music with a message.
