On February 28, 1997, two violent bank robbers, Larry Phillips, Jr. and Emil Mătăsăreanu stormed the North Hollywood branch of Bank of America, intent on robbing the vault. Armed to the teeth with fully automatic assault rifles, and in head to toe bullet proof body armor, the resulting shootout led to thousands of rounds of spent ammunition, twelve wounded police officers, a half dozen wounded civilians, and the violent deaths of the two perpetrators. This video is a brief summary of the story, with actual footage of the confrontation.
