✅ Top 5 Most Rainy Places on Earth - विश्व के 5 सबसे अधिक बरसाती जगह Mount Bellenden Ker is the second-highest mountain in Queensland, Australia, with a height of 1,593 metres (5,226 ft). It is named after the botanist John Bellenden Ker Gawler. Located 60 km (37 mi) south of Cairns near Babinda, it is adjacent to Mount Bartle Frere, the state's highest peak, part of the Bellenden Ker Range which is also known as the Wooroonooran Range. The two mountains dominate the Josephine Falls section of the Wooroonooran National Park.[1] Both peaks are made of resistant granite and are remnants of an escarpment that has been eroded by the Russell and Mulgrave Rivers. Several television transmitter towers have been built on the mountain. The only access to the television transmitter site and the mountain top weather station is by a privately owned cable car.[2] Debundscha is a village in the south-western Region of the republic of Cameroon. It is found at the foot of the Mount Cameroon at its south western corner directly facing the south Atlantic ocean on the Cameroon coast. Debundscha has an extremely wet climate with about 10,299 millimetres (405.5 in) of rainfall falling annually.[2] The village of Debundscha is included among the five rainiest places in the world which includes Lloró, Mawsynram, Mount Waialeale and Cherrapunji, with each of them receiving over 10,000 millimeters (400 ins) of rain annually.[3] Mount Waiʻaleʻale /ˌwaɪˌɑːleɪˈɑːleɪ/ is a shield volcano and the second highest point on the island of Kauaʻi in the Hawaiian Islands. Its name literally means "rippling water" or "overflowing water" [1] The mountain, at an elevation of 5,148 feet (1,569 m), averages more than 452 inches (11,500 mm) of rain a year since 1912, with a record 683 inches (17,300 mm) in 1982; its summit is one of the rainiest spots on earth.[2][not in citation given] Recent reports though mention that over the period 1978–2007 the wettest spot in Hawaii is Big Bog on Maui (404 inches or 10,300 mm per year).[3] Cherrapunji (/ˌtʃɛrəˈpʌndʒi, -ˈpʊn-/ (About this sound listen); with the historic name Sohra being more commonly used, and can also be spelled Cherrapunjee or Cherrapunji) is a subdivisional town in the East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is the traditional capital of aNongkhlaw hima (Khasi tribal chieftainship constituting a petty state), both known as Sohra or Churra. Cherrapunji has often been credited as being the wettest place on Earth, but for now nearby Mawsynram currently holds that distinction. Cherrapunji still holds the all-time record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year, however: it received 9,300 millimetres (370 in; 30.5 ft) in July 1861 and 26,461 millimetres (1,041.8 in; 86.814 ft) between 1 August 1860 and 31 July 1861 Lloró is a municipality and town in the Chocó Department, Colombia. It claims the second world record for highest average annual precipitation with 12,717 mm (501 in),[1][2] after López de Micay, which holds the record with 12,892.4 mm (508 in).[3] The rainfall data was measured in its Agricultural Farm, managed by the University of Bogotá, between 1952 and 1989. If accurate, that would make it the wettest place in the world.[4] The town is named for Gioró, a pre-Columbian indigenous chief. An 1853 watercolor by Manuel María Paz portrays two men in straw hats with a female vendor at a liquor stand in Lloró.[5]
