Stephen McCarthy is the first ever CEO of the Malta Digital Innovation Authority, at the helm from its inception in 2018. Since graduating in Accountancy from the University of Malta in 1986, Mr. McCarthy has enjoyed a long career in the financial field as the Financial Controller and Financial Consultant with various companies, including Bigpoint International Services Limited. Additionally, Mr. McCarthy served as Finance Director of Greenpeace Mediterranean, during which period he also formed part of the Greenpeace International Standardisation Board. Prior to joining the MDIA, he was also involved in the social area, serving for five years as CEO of the Malta Housing Authority.
