Eric’s prediction on Whitetail movement this week proved right. We timed the cold front perfect, it set us on a collision course with our target buck “Boris” - We we’re watching a group of bucks (including a stud 8 pointer) work their way across CRP towards us. They’d been feeding in the farmers picked bean field for 25 mins. A doe came in from our right, with the waning moments of the evening closing in - Eric told me to grunt. This got the attention of the big 8 - we were focused on him when the sound of footsteps to our left sent us into chaos. “Boris” standing on the edge of the timber watching his heavy horned brother - he walked right into our life at 20 yards. We apologize, there’s no actual footage of the shot because we were both about draw back on him. Nonetheless- our season has kicked off in a big way.
