Hi in this video we can see how to make aval pongal in Tamil.This recipe was prepared by Kalayan in Cooku with Comali show telecasted on Vijay Television. AVAL PONGAL | COOK WITH COMALI RECIPE | POHA PONGAL INGREDIENTS flattened rice - 1 cup moong dal - ¼ cup jaggery - 1 cup cardamom powder cashew nuts raisins ghee water METHOD OF PREPARATION 1.Roast ¼ cup moong dal for few minutes until its raw smell goes. 2.Cook the dal in the pressure cooker with 1 cup water upto 4 whistles.Wash the dal before cooking. 3.In a pan heat 2 tbsp ghee and fry some cashew nuts and raisins.Keep it aside. 4.In the same pan roast 1 cup flattened rice for few minutes and then add 1 cup water and cook it. 5.Melt 1 cup jaggery with ¼ cup water until the jaggery is dissolved and then filter it. 6.Once the flattened rice is cooked add the cooked moong dal along with the water.The consistency should be little watery or else when it cools down it will thicken. 7.Add the jaggery syrup and mix well.Let it boil for a few minutes. 8.At last add some cardamom powder and the roasted cashews and raisins.Mix well AVAL PONGAL READY !!!
