The 21st edition of the world's most popular sporting event, FIFA World Cup 2018 to be taken place in Russia from June 14 to July 15, 2018. Russia was awarded the hosting rights on December 2, 2010.During the FIFA World Cup 2018, 32 national teams will take part to become the new champion of the world's most popular sports. Out of the 32 teams, 31 teams determined through qualifying competitions and the automatically qualified host team. Of the 32 teams, 20 will be making back-to-back appearances following the last edition of the tournament in 2014, including defending champions Germany. For Iceland and Panama, it will their first appearances at a FIFA World Cup. Egypt, will be seen in action in FIFA WC 2018 after a 28-year absence, whereas Peru, returning after a 36-year absence. This time African countries, Morocco, who last competed in 1998 and Senegal, competing for the second time after reaching the quarterfinals in 2002. Four-time champions Italy (for the first time since 1958) and the Netherlands; 2014 third-place finishers, failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. During the month long FIFA World Cup 2018 event, a total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final will take place on 15 July in Moscow at the Luzhniki Stadium.
