Srdjan Dragutinovic's video: Great Barrier Reef Australia - Go Pro 4k Underwater Footage

@Great Barrier Reef Australia - Go Pro 4k Underwater Footage
Filmed snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland Australia in January 2022. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world and is the world’s largest living structure. It is visible from space and is made up of around 2900 individual reefs and 900 islands. Most of the footage was filmed in Opal Reef which is situated about 30 miles off the coast of Australia, right in the Coral Sea. The journey to Opal can take about an hour and a half with part of the trip being quite protected via the maze of Tongue Reef. Opal Reef is a large, mostly shallow, crescent shaped reef near the edge of the continental shelf. The shape provides a lot of protection from the prevailing wind. This, combined with the clear water, means the reef has really excellent snorkelling. We wore stinger suits, but unfortunately the youngest member of our family was stung by a jellyfish on the one spot his suit didn't cover. He had a bad reaction and had to be airlifted off the boat to Cairns hospital. All turned out well and was just a combination of unfortunate circumstances, so don't let it put you off an amazing experience.
