Idimuzhakkam is Ratheesh"s second film as an actor. Shortstory writer and broacaster John Samuel has acted in the film. It is a period film. The incidents of the story is supposed to be happened in Kerala before the emergence of Communist movement. The film is based on a kannada story written by Puttanna Kanagal. Sreekumaran Thampi changed the atmospere to fit in to the kerala atmosphere. The climax is very symbolic. The death of the cruel land lord is shown in a different style.
