Staffordshire University's video: Holocaust Memorial Day 2021

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place on 27 January each year and is a time to remember the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. In this video, staff and student from Staffordshire University reflect on this year’s theme 'Be the light in the darkness' with the reading of poems. At Staffordshire University we continue to support those people facing persecution and genocide historically and today; and provide an opportunity for students, staff and the wider community to come together to reflect on the impact of the Holocaust on individuals and communities. We acknowledge the pain and suffering experienced by those individuals and communities affected by the Holocaust and strive to be an inclusive institution and to proactively tackle discrimination and hate.
