Constatant que son modèle Q2 grignotait le marché normalement dévolu au Q3, Audi a réagi. En partant d’une feuille quasi blanche, l’objectif général assigné aux concepteurs pour relancer un Q3 en perte de clientèle, fut d’améliorer sur tous les plans ce modèle qui adopta des dimensions plus généreuses. Par exemple, en longueur on est passé du coup de 4,19 m à 4,49 m !
